Earth Worms with Rabbits
I read about earth worm raising in a rabbit book, the kind of earth worms that are used to fish, and in the place I live, there is a big demand for earthworms, because it's kind of a small hick town where people fish everyday, and there are alot of rivers and lakes.
So my father and I decided to try it out, we made long wood boxes as long as my rabbits cages, placed them under the cages, and filled them with damp sawdust about 6 inches deep.
The rabbit droppings, and urine will fall on the sawdust, and the worms which we put in the boxes with sawdust, eat the rabbit droppings, and turn them into an amazing fertilizer.
There will also be no smell, from rabbit droppings, etc; because the worms eat them. The boxes only have to be cleaned out twice each year, otherwise you just have to plull some worms out every now and then.
worms are bisexual, they aren't male or female, they both can reproduce eggs, on average a worm produces 10,000 new worms each year.
I have just started, and havn't got alot of worms yet, but I already have orders for 200 dozen worms from one store, and like the same amount at another sporting good store to be filled by March.
Raising Earth Worms is just another way to make money from your rabbits, and keep rabbit living conditions for your rabbits optimal.
